NOTICE: DPW offices at 147 Hampshire St. are open to the public, by appointment only, Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Appointments can be made by phone at 617-349-4800 or by email at theworks@cambridgema.gov. Individual staff are also available for appointments outside of these hours as needed; please contact the office with the details of your issue, and we will coordinate with the appropriate staff member. Many DPW services can be provided online, and DPW phones are staffed 24/7 to respond to urgent concerns.

City of Cambridge Martin Luther King Day Closures and Service Information

Cambridge, MA, January 8, 2020 – City of Cambridge offices, including all library locations and senior centers, will be closed and curbside collections will be suspended on Monday, January 20, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Parking meter payments will not be required on the holiday.

Curbside collection of trash, recycling, and compost will be one day behind schedule for the rest of that week. Street cleaning and yard waste pickup are suspended for the winter season and resume in April.

The Cambridge Cemetery at 76 Coolidge Avenue will have the gates open from 7 a.m. until dusk on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, however, the Cemetery Administrative Office will be closed.
