Cambridge Street Rail Road Crossing Closure October 29 into October 30

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 2 years ago.

Keolis will be working to replace the railroad crossing on Cambridge Street (between Warren and Lambert streets) on Friday, October 29 into Saturday, October 30. The work will require a full shutdown of all traffic on Cambridge street at the crossing location. Work will entail removing the section of railroad tracks that cross Cambridge street, installing new roadway sub-base, and establishing a new at grade railroad crossing.

This work will be performed overnight and has received approval from the licensing commission. The start time will be 11:00pm on Friday, October 29 and will be finished mid afternoon on Saturday October, 30. This allows time for the asphalt to cool before opening up to traffic. There will be two detour route options to the North and to the South shown on this map. Keolis has coordinated with the MBTA to reroute bus traffic during this closure.

For questions regarding this work please contact Ronald Brousseau at Keolis at ronald.brousseau@keoliscs.com or for questions regarding detours put in place contact Brian McLane, DPW Senior Engineer, at bmclane@cambridgema.gov.
