  • Winter Construction Moratorium

    Beginning on November 20, 2020, the City of Cambridge will be enforcing a winter construction moratorium. This moratorium will halt all excavation in the public right of way for the winter season. Beginning on this date, there shall be no excavation in the public right of way. The winter moratorium does not apply to work related to utility emergencies.

    The Conservation Commission is responsible for administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (WPA), a state law governing activities in and immediately adjacent to local wetlands, waterways and floodplains.

    Beginning September 14th, weather permitting, the City’s contractor, E J Paving, will be performing partial roadway grinding and paving operations to enhance the road conditions on several sections of street around the City.

    The City will host another Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on August 22, 9am to 1pm at 65 Waverly St.

  • MBTA Begins Retaining Wall Repair at Porter Square

    The MBTA has announced plans to begin work to repair retaining wall at the Porter Square MBTA Station.
