Patriots Day Observance 2015

The Cambridge Veterans’ Organization (CVO) and the City of Cambridge’s  Department of Veterans’ Services will hold their annual Patriot’s Day Observance on Monday, April 20th at Winthrop Park (corner of JFK and Mt Auburn Streets).  The Observance will begin at 10:00 AM.
Philip Anderson, President, of the Cambridge Veterans' Organization will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Mayor David Maher will extend the city’s greetings. Chaplain Major General Douglas L. Carver, United States Army, retired, will deliver the keynote address.

The event will be highlighted by a reenactment of Patriot William Dawes, Jr., historic horseback ride from Boston to Cambridge alerting the colonists of the British threat of 1775.  Patriot Dawes, dressed in colonial garb, will deliver the alert to Mayor Maher, followed by the blowing of TAPS by bugler, Robinson Pyle.

Cambridge Rindge & Latin School Drama student Evie Hartenstein will read the Governor’s Patriots’ Day Proclamation. CRLS music student Douglas Appleman will sing the National Anthem and God Bless America.
