Veterans Day Observance Event Friday, November 11 and Veterans' Appreciation Week November 14-17

The City of Cambridge Department of Veterans Services will host a Veterans Day Observance event on Friday, November 11, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m., at Cambridge Common, by the Civil War monument, which is bordered by Massachusetts Avenue, Garden Street, and Waterhouse Street, near Harvard Square. A networking event will follow from 12-2 p.m. at the Sheraton Commander Hotel, 16 Garden Street, Cambridge.

Additionally, the Department of Veterans’ Services is holding an in-person Veterans' Appreciation Week November 14-17, from 1-4 p.m., at the Veterans Life and Recreation Center, adjacent to the Veterans Services Office at 51 Inman Street, 2nd floor, Cambridge. Each of the following events will provide an opportunity for gathering in person, health and wellness activities, and a free buffet and refreshments.

Monday, Nov. 14, 1-4 p.m.
Fitness and nutrition workshop (part 1), and Gyrokinesis Yoga (a modern and gentle form of yoga).

Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1-4 p.m.
Veteran artist demonstrating wood-etching and painting technique and Pop-Up painting (create your own painting with our instructor).

Wednesday, Nov. 16. 1-4 p.m.
Fitness and nutrition (part 2), guided journaling, and vision-board instruction.

Thursday, Nov. 17, 1-4 p.m.
Acupuncture, Veterans Administration guest speaker, photography workshop and complementary headshots.
