3D Solar Tree Rating

GIS and DPW have a new Cambridge 3D web scene showing solar rating for individual street trees. The Cambridge Street Tree data was added to the Cambridge 3D Basemap and then run through a shadow analysis tool to determine how much sunlight each tree receives. These results were assigned a value between 1-5, where 1 represents less light and 5 represents more light. The solar rating data was then used to symbolize the street trees in an interactive 3D web scene. Pan and zoom around the city or use the bookmarks along the bottom of the scene to jump to some example areas. Use the Shadows tool (on the upper right of the scene) to slide through the year and days to see how shadows are cast from the buildings.
