This holiday season, the City is partnering with local businesses and business associations to encourage residents and visitors to shop local!

Celebrate small businesses and shop in Cambridge on Small Business Saturday (November 27, 2021) and all season long. This year Cambridge Arts will be hosting two Holiday Arts Markets at the Cambridge Masonic Hall (1950 Massachusetts Ave.),  Saturday and Sunday November 27 & November 28 and Saturday December 4 & December 5, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. You can also view and download maps detailing small business retail and restaurants in each commercial district.

Shop Local Weekend

Cambridge Local First (CLF), the Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts (SBN), and the Cambridge-Somerville Black Business Network (CSBBN) are excited to bring you the first-ever Shop Local Weekend from November 26-30! With a variety of events planned for each day, we hope to help you kick off the holiday shopping season right – by supporting local, independently-owned businesses!   • Plaid Friday,  Friday, November 26 - Celebrate and show your support for the diversity and creativity of local and independent businesses by wearing plaid all day on November 26th!
  • Passport to Black-Owned Business Event, Saturday, November 27 - In addition to the many Small Business Saturday events planned in Cambridge, CLF, SBN of Massachusetts, and the CSBBN are excited to be hosting the second "Passport to Black-Owned Businesses Event"! This hybrid event encourages customers to interact with Black-owned businesses in Cambridge and Somerville. 
  • Support Artists Sunday, Sunday, November 28 - Go out and support Cambridge's talented, diverse artists!
  • CSBBN Cyber Monday, Monday, November 29 - Kick back and relax at home, browsing online deals and e-gift cards from Cambridge’s independent retailers.
  • Giving Tuesday, Tuesday, November 30 - Support local charities as part of Giving Tuesday.

Shop our selections in the bookstore and here. They are all 20% off with a Frequent Buyer card. (Sign up online in store for a free card.) 
    • Hubba Hubba (2 Ellery St.) is a sex-positive alternative store, focusing on education and diversity. Receive a free “Definitely Does Not Contain…Toys” bag with any $250 purchase (or available for purchase for $25) with proceeds being donated to the ACLU.

  • Small Business Saturday specials:
    • Abroad Modern (292 Concord Ave.), 11 a.m.- 7 p.m.: Around the World with Women Makers: A Global Gift Pop-Up Event at Abroad Modern on Small Business Saturday. Travel with us to Brazil and Pakistan as we invite two wonderful local women-owned small businesses to join us for our first ever Around the World with Women Makers Pop-Up Event! A percentage of the proceeds benefit Giving Joy to support women entrepreneurs worldwide.
    • Honey Jones (270A Concord Ave.), 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.: Stop by Honey Jones art gallery and studio for Meditations on Climate Crisis: Inspiring Change before it closes on November 28, 2021. Stop by in December for Vox Scheherazade.
