Cambridge Police and Fire Departments Raise Money for The 100 Club

Members of the Cambridge Police Department and Cambridge Fire Department competed in the second annual First Responder Challenge on Sunday, January 28 at the TD Garden. This one-of-a-kind event featured local first responders and fitness enthusiasts from all over New England, who participated in a course throughout the TD Garden.

The event raised awareness around health and wellness and, most importantly, supported The 100 Club of Massachusetts, a non-profit organization that supports the families of law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed in the line of duty.

Overall, 18 Cambridge Police Officers and civilians competed and/or raised nearly $7,000, while 12 Cambridge Firefighters participated and raised nearly $4,300.  Two Firefighters, John Magee and Nick Jacobs, finished in the top 15 for the Fire/EMT division.  Last year, $130,000 was raised for The 100 Club of Massachusetts and this year’s contributions from Cambridge Public Safety will make a significant impact on this year’s totals.
