A Charles Street resident reported a theft from a motor vehicle. A suspect gained entry to their vehicle and stole cash from the center console sometime overnight.

A Cambridge resident reported an issue regarding identity theft. A suspect using his phone number and other personal information tried to apply for unemployment benefits this week. Whether or not the suspect obtained financial benefits on either occasion is unknown at this time.

A Resident of Spring street reports his vehicle was entered sometime overnight. Some loose change and personal documents were stolen.

A Spring Street resident reported a break-in to his motor vehicle. A suspect entered his car sometime between 8:00 P.M. and 8:00 A.M. Items were strewn about the interior of the motor vehicle, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.

An employee from a restaurant located on Springfield Street contacted the Cambridge Police to report a past break and enter to the restaurant that occurred overnight at approximately 1:00 A.M.

The Cambridge Police documented a motor vehicle crash involving a bicyclist. The operator of the motor vehicle was issued a citation. The bicyclist was treated on scene for minor injuries.

A Medford resident reported a break-in to his motor vehicle. A suspect entered the victim's vehicle sometime overnight while it was parked in a driveway on Thorndike Street. Cash and a gift card were taken during the incident.

A Somerville resident reported hit-and-run damage to a motor vehicle. His vehicle was struck by another operator while it was parked in a pharmacy parking lot on White Street. The other operator then fled the scene.

Trustee at condo building on Harvard Street reports seeing a party attempting to break into the rear doors of the building early this morning. It does not appear that entry had been gained at this time.

A Lee Street resident reported a package theft. The reporting party has video footage of a male stealing the package off his front porch today at 1:04 AM. The package contained merchandise worth $60.

A New Hampshire resident reported a break-in to a motor vehicle. A suspect broke into her father's car sometime between July 4, 2021 and July 14, 2021. There did not appear to be any forced entry. Some expired medication was a taken and there may have been an attempt to hot-wire the vehicle.

A Cambridge resident reported larceny. The Cambridge resident had signed up to have junk removed from his residence. The suspects took many items they were not supposed to and charged his account twice the amount than quoted.

Cambridge Police Department arrested Justin Bishop, 35, homeless of Cambridge after he was observed drinking an alcoholic beverage in public. As a result, he will be charged with one count by-law or ordinance violation drinking or possession of alcoholic beverage in public.

CHESTER STREET
Christopher Hunt, 37, homeless of Cambridge, was arrested for Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle, Disorderly Conduct, Sex Offender Fail to Register, Assault and Battery on Ambulance Personnel, and a warrant out of Boston District Court. Christopher Hunt was observed by witnesses blocking traffic while yelling at motor vehicles on the road, he then proceeded to kick and damage two motor vehicles that were actively operating on the road. In the process of transporting Hunt to the hospital, he kicked an ambulance personnel while barefoot. Subsequently it was learned that Hunt had failed to register as a sex offender and had warrants.

HOMER AVENUE
Police and Fire responded to Homer Avenue. for the report of an unattended bag. Upon arrival the bag was cleared by CPD EOD and determined to be abandoned property.
