Cambridge Food Resources

There are many options for accessing food throughout the city. Cambridge in Motion, coordinated by the Cambridge Public Health Department, maintains an updated list of local food pantries and free community meals. Residents are encouraged to contact programs prior to visiting to confirm details and eligibility.

Cambridge residents who are unable to travel to food pantries because they are over 60 years of age, immunocompromised, or have a disability may qualify for the Food for Free Home Delivery Program, which delivers grocery bags to eligible residents twice a month. To learn more, call 617-684-1854 or visit

Cambridge Public Schools continues to provide free bagged breakfasts and lunches to all children ages 18 and under regardless of Free/Reduced Price Lunch status. For more information and site locations, visit

There are also many food resources for seniors in Cambridge in addition to the Food for Free Home Delivery Program. The Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) offers a variety of nutrition and meal services, including Meals on Wheels, for adults ages 60 and over. For more information, call 617-628-2601 or visit the SCES website. If you are concerned about a senior’s access to food, please call the Cambridge Council on Aging’s main line at 617-349-6220.
