Cambridge Police Release Updated Video and Images of Suspect Believed to be Involved in Multiple Sexual Assaults

Following an ongoing investigation into three separate sexual assaults that have been reported this year, the Cambridge Police today released a series of videos and surveillance photos of a suspect they are attempting to identify and locate. The suspect is believed to be associated with all three indecent assault reports:

• On February 10, 2022, a 35-year-old Cambridge woman reported that she was approached from behind in the area of Mason Street and Phillips Place around 9:08 a.m. and a suspect reportedly put their hand on her buttocks and then reached around her front and touched her groin area. The suspect then ran to Brattle Square.
   
• On April 13, 2022, a 47-year-old Somerville woman was physically and sexually assaulted near the Porter Exchange Shopping Center at 1815 Massachusetts Avenue around 8:40 a.m. The survivor reported she was walking down Roseland Street towards Massachusetts Avenue when she felt someone quickly approach her. After attempting to step out of the way, the suspect reportedly reached up her skirt and felt her buttocks. When she turned around to confront the suspect, he ran away.  
• On August 24, 2022, the Cambridge Police responded to the area of Prescott Street and Broadway after a 19-year-old Cambridge woman reported a male suspect came up from behind her and grabbed her chest around 3:20 p.m. When she turned around, the suspect laughed and ran away towards Prescott and Cambridge Street. A person who matched the description was stopped by officers, but was later determined to not be the suspect.  

In each case, the suspect was described as a male, possibly Hispanic, approximately 5’3” - 5'8" with a medium-build, and carrying a dark backpack. He is believed to have a unique and noticeable gait, as video surveillance has depicted him running on his toes. A prior public notification about this suspect, which included surveillance video, was previously released by the Cambridge Police in April 2022. While the Cambridge Police received and investigated a number of tips from the community, they did not result in identifying a suspect.
