Multimodal Harvard Square

Expect traffic impacts from three events this weekend Boston Calling Music Festival (May 24-26), Santo Cristo Feast (May 24-26), and Run to Remember (May 26).

Boston Calling May 24-26. Expect significant traffic impacts in the Harvard Square area due to the Boston Calling 3-day music festival (Friday 2:30-11 p.m.), (Saturday and Sunday 12-11 p.m.), at Harvard’s Athletic Complex, 65 N. Harvard St., Allston. Many attendees will be taking Red Line to Harvard Square Station and walking to event.
Street Closures: Beginning at 9 p.m., N. Harvard Street, in Allston, will be closed to allow for maximum attendee departure and pedestrian safety. Street closures in Cambridge during the event include: JFK St., from Mass Ave. to the River; Mass Ave., from Garden St. to JFK St./Brattle St; Mt. Auburn St., from Brattle St. to Dunster St; Brattle St. at Mt. Auburn; Church St., from Mass Ave to Palmer St; Palmer St; South St, from JFK St. to Dunster St.. Additional closures, including Mt. Auburn St., from Hawthorn St. into Harvard Square, may occur at other peak pedestrian times.

Santo Cristo Feast May 24-26 (Friday 6 p.m. – 12 a.m., Sat. 2 p.m.-12 a.m., Sun. 12 p.m.-11 p.m.), Saint Anthony Parish, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave, Cambridge. On Saturday, procession at 5 p.m., from St. Anthony’s onto Cardinal Medeiros Ave., turning right onto Hardwick St., onto Berkshire St., to Cambridge St., and back to Parish by about 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, procession at 2 p.m., leaving church, onto Cardinal Medeiros Ave, turning right on Plymouth St., right on Windsor, right on Cambridge St., and right again onto Cardinal Medeiros Ave, returning at about 4:30 p.m.   

Boston’s Run To Remember Half Marathon & 5-Mile Sunday, May 26, 7-9:30 a.m. Starts and finishes at Seaport World Trade Center, Boston. Part of the route will cross Longfellow Bridge (with rolling closures) into Cambridge, and move along Memorial Drive (which is closed on Sundays).  Link to Course Map
