  • Members Sought for Cambridge Public Art Commission

    The role of the Commission is to guide the implementation of the Public Art Ordinance and the Art Gifts and Donation Policy, and to advise on the overall direction of the Public Art Program. The Commission brings its collective expertise to bear on discussions regarding the various program areas of the Cambridge Public Art Program, such as acquisition and deaccession, project planning, maintenance, conservation, educational programming, and the exhibitions in Gallery 344. The Commission reviews every percent-for-art project from artists’ proposals to final design. PAC approval is required before a project can go into fabrication.

  • Cambridge Conservation Commission Members Sought

    The Conservation Commission is responsible for administration of the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (WPA), a state law governing activities in and immediately adjacent to local wetlands, waterways and floodplains.

  • Cambridge Announces Shared Use Hours for Off-Leash Dogs at Sacramento Field

    The City of Cambridge announced today that the pilot of off-leash dog use at Sacramento Field will transition into an ongoing program, similar to several other successful shared use locations around the City. Shared use off-leash areas are places where dogs are allowed off-leash in outdoor spaces located near other park uses and activities. These spaces differ from dedicated off-leash spaces that are generally fenced to facilitate the containment of off-leash dogs.

    The Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP) launched Fall on the Fields," a series of free, outdoor experiences for Cambridge JK-8th graders, from September 21-October 30, from 3-6 p.m. on weekdays, at Danehy Park, Rindge, Hoyt, Donnelly, and Sennott Fields.
