Algae of the Cambridge Watershed

Here at CWD, we use a microscope to identify algae from samples of the reservoirs in our watershed. This helps us understand the nutrient fluctuations in these water bodies, and identify any problem areas.Through these images you can get a glimpse into our microscope to see what the phytoplankton communities of Hobbs, Stony, and Fresh Pond Reservoirs look like: enjoy!
