A Guide To Holiday Art Markets In Cambridge—Including Two From Cambridge Arts


Looking for locally-made gifts for your loved ones? Cambridge Arts offers two Holiday Art Markets this holiday season—at the Harvard Square Kiosk from Dec. 10 to 15 and 17 to 22 as well as at Harvard University’s Smith Campus Center from Dec. 12 to 15. 

The markets, produced by the arts council’s Creative Marketplace program, offer paintings, prints, pillows, chocolate, knitted wear, soaps, and ceramics made by Cambridge artists.

• Pop Central | Open daily | 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.

A pop-up shop, from the Central Business Improvement District, that features vintage fashion, streetwear, music and art.

• Winter Market at the Canal | Dec. 5 | Noon – 8 p.m.
South Plaza, 350 Kendall St.
A boutique market featuring local artists and artisanal food makers. Visit Canal District Kendall for music, food, ice sculptures, and holiday shopping.

St. Paul's Church Hall, 29 Mt. Auburn St.
Running for 34 years, this holiday market features craft vendors from all across New England displaying a range of gifts. Head to Harvard Square to shop for that special something, ranging from homemade candles to antique books and unique art prints.

• Boston Hassle Flea | Dec. 7 | Noon – 6 p.m.
Elks Lodge, 55 Bishop Allen Drive.
Boston Hassle presents a bi-monthly one-day flea market at the

• Brain Market Flea | Dec. 8 | Noon – 6 p.m.

Looking for a gift for your punk friend, but have no idea what to buy? Visit this eclectic flea market hosted by Brain Arts at the Cambridge Community Center, where you can find pins, zines and vintage clothing. While you're there, you can also get your hair cut and have your tarot cards read.

• Art Access: A Chill Winter Market | Dec. 8 | 1 – 5 p.m.
Multicultural Arts Center, 41 Second St. 
Art Access at the Multicultural Arts Center offers affordable art from artists who live or work in Cambridge. As part of the center’s mission to present multicultural arts programs, educate the community about diversity, and support artists in our community, all work works sold will be priced under $250 to make the purchasing of art accessible to a wider range of audiences.

Harvard Square Kiosk
The kiosk, formerly the home of Out of Town News, reopens with the Holiday Art Markets, presented by Culture House and Cambridge Arts. This market will feature local Cambridge artists selling a variety of fine art and crafts. The Smith Campus Center will be lively with local artists, live music, and hot chocolate and treats during this Holiday Art Market, a collaboration between Harvard University and Cambridge Arts’ Creative Marketplace program. See the newly redesigned Smith Campus Center, and shop for unique fine art and crafts by local Cambridge artists. Some 70 local vendors offer designer wares to jewelry to specialty food. (Tickets are required to attend.)
