Engine 9 Fire House Reconstruction Completed

Please read the note below from Chief Mahoney:
I am happy to report that after 16 months, Engine Co. 9 is reoccupying their quarters on June 3rd at 167 Lexington Avenue.
The building, originally occupied on June 7, 1894, has undergone extensive renovations and upgrades. Among the work performed, new private rooms, new bathrooms, state of the art decontamination area on the main floor and installing a commercial grade kitchen on floor 2. The building is now fully sprinklered, has been equipped with new lighting, a gym area and IT upgrades.
I want to thank Assistant Chief Cotter, Lt. Steve Brown, retired Assistant Chief Paul Sheehan for the amount of work and time they have put into seeing this to completion. I also want to thank the Technical Services Division, the PSIT personnel and staff from the MFIP program at DPW and the Electrical Department for their assistance as well.
The $4.3M project would not have been feasible without the support of the City Manager, his Finance Team and the City Council.
And I especially want to thank the members of Engine Co. 9 for their patience as the Pandemic along with the all too present supply chain issues kept getting in the way!
