Description

Representatives from the cities of Boston, Somerville, Everett, Chelsea, Medford and Malden will be convening in Cambridge for the Metro Boston Homelessness Summit.

Policy makers and department heads from these communities will meet several times to discuss how the region can better support our homeless population as homelessness is an issue that knows no borders.

During this first meeting each community will present what homelessness looks like in their city, what programs are currently in place and what future plans they have to address homelessness. Future meetings will include presentations from leaders in homelessness advocacy, developing a plan to work better together, and developing a list of policy and advocacy initiatives.

This Summit is a joint effort of the Offices of Mayor E. Denise Simmons and Vice Mayor Marc McGovern.

The public is invited to attend, however, there is no public comment at this meeting.
