Join Katie Kitamura as she discusses her novel Intimacies with Meghan O'Rourke, the author of The Invisible Kingdom: Reimagining Chronic Illness. Intimacies is a story about an unnamed woman working as an interpreter in an international court. She is a woman of many languages and identities and is looking for a place to finally call home. Supported by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation.

Katie Kitamura’s most recent novel Intimacies is one of the New York Times’ 10 Best Books of 2021 and one of Barack Obama’s Favorite Books of 2021, and longlisted for the National Book Award. She is the author of A Separation, as well as Gone To The Forest and The Longshot, both finalists for the New York Public Library’s Young Lions Fiction Award. Her work has been translated into 21 languages and is being adapted for film and television. 

Meghan O'Rourke is a writer, poet, and editor. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Invisible Kingdom: Reimagining Chronic Illness; the bestselling memoir The Long Goodbye; and the poetry collections Sun In Days, which was named a New York Times Best Poetry Book of the Year; Once; and Halflife, which was a finalist for the Patterson Poetry Prize and Britain’s Forward First Book Prize.
