Description

Curb came into the City of Cambridge a few years back as an e-hail application.  Curb has approached us once again to see if the Cambridge industry is interested in participating in The Ride Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (“MBTA”) program.  On Monday, February 24, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. we will host a meeting at the Michael J. Lombardi Building, 831 Massachusetts Avenue, Carmelia M. Vicente Conference Room (basement level) to allow Curb to explain how the Cambridge Taxi Industry may benefit from the MBTA program.

Per Curb, it will discuss the following at the meeting:

  1. Curb being selected and running a program by the MBTA to provide a solution for facilitating the use of taxicabs for paratransit ground transportation in the MBTA’s “The Ride” paratransit program.
  2. Curb’s planned solution which will allow The Ride customers to directly submit requests for ground transportation via our Curb Mobile App, A web portal, and by telephone.  If the requester has been allocated taxi rides by the MBTA, the subsidized portion of his or her taxi ride will be directly to the MBTA on a periodic basis.
  3. The benefits to the Cambridge taxi operators.

We hope to see you at the meeting.  Any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at hackney@cambridgema.gov or 617-349-6146.

Thank you.
