Description

The City of Cambridge is pleased to announce the expansion of the Small Business Recycling Program beginning November 1, 2020. The purpose of this program is to assist our small business community in recycling and reducing waste, while doing so affordably.

All small businesses in Cambridge are invited to apply for the program. Approximately 125 businesses will be added for the program. If selected, businesses will receive free collection of up to 3 recycle carts twice per week. The collection service and the carts are provided by the City of Cambridge at no cost to the selected businesses.

To apply, fill out an application at: tinyurl.com/CambridgeSmallBiz. Applicants will be entered into the lottery for the Small Business Recycling Program. The application closes on September 9, 2020.

Special consideration will be given to businesses with any of the following characteristics:

1.   51% women or minority-owned business

2.   51% Cambridge resident-owned

3.   Not a Formula Business as defined in the Cambridge Zoning Code, Article 2

4.   51% retail or restaurant establishment

Applications will be reviewed by the Department of Public Works and the Community Development Department. We will notify businesses by October 9, 2020 if they have been selected for the Program. The recycling service will begin November 1, 2020.

We will be hosting an online public forum to answer your questions about the Small Business Recycle Program on Monday, August 10th at 1 pm. Register here: tinyurl.com/CambridgeSmallBizWebinar
