Description

As part of “Untold Possibilities at the Last Minute,” an exhibition the state of climate change today, on view at Cambridge Arts Council’s Gallery 344 from May 20 to Oct. 4, 2019, Keith Hartwig creates a 6-foot-tall cube of ice harvested from a Maine pond last winter on the plaza outside Cambridge’s City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway. Free.

Catch it before it melts.

His “COLD CHAIN” speaks about the transition of refrigeration from natural ice to mechanical freezers, and how our society’s reliance on such greenhouse-gas-producing machines is melting away our winters.
