Celebrate Women’s History Month with us as we honor female MCs with Hip Hop HERstory: A Discussion of Influential Women in Hip Hop!

Join panelists Candice Benbow, Candace McDuffie, and Brande Victorian as they take us on a musical journey of some of the best moments in Hip Hop. Host and sounds provided by the cofounders of WWOC Radio, Courtney Boston, and New England’s hottest female DJ, DJ T. Lawson.

Candice Benbow is a writer and public theologian who centers her work at the intersections of faith, feminism, and culture. She has written for Essence, Glamour, and Madam Noire. Her first book, Red Lip Theology, will be released in February 2022 by Convergent Books.

Candace McDuffie is a respected cultural critic and music journalist who focuses on the intersection of race, gender, and entertainment. Her critically acclaimed book 50 Rappers Who Changed the World, was published last year. Her work has been featured at Entertainment Weekly, Glamour, and Vibe Magazine.

Brande Victorian is the Senior Entertainment Editor at ESSENCE magazine where she covers all things film, TV, radio, books, and podcasts across print and digital. When not penning stories or interviewing celebrities, she lends her expertise on Black women and pop culture to national outlets such as Access Hollywood, The Associated Press, and ESPNW.
