      David Dapice is leading expert on the economic development of Southeast Asia and has worked extensively in Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, and Vietnam. He was principal advisor to the Indonesian Ministry of Finance when this country enjoyed its period of rapid growth. He is Professor Emeritus of Economics at Tufts University, where served as Chair of the Economics Department. He has studied the Vietnamese economy since the late 1980s, with a particular emphasis on macroeconomic issues, public investment policy, and regional development. Dapice’s expertise on matters of economic policy is regularly sought by the Vietnamese government. He is authored or co-authored a number of policy studies including Choosing Success: The Lessons of East and Southeast Asia and Vietnam’s Future.

      Tax Assistance for 2019 will run from February 4 through April 13 in the Main Library's Community Room on Fridays 12 - 4:30pm, Saturdays 10am - 3pm, and Mondays from 5pm - 7:30pm. There will be no tax help on February 18 (Presidents' Day) or March 16, 18, 22, or 23 due to Harvard's Spring Break. This program is available to people who generally make $54,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking taxpayers. Space is limited. Tickets will be handed out on a first-come first-served basis on the day of the program when the Main Library opens. To get your taxes done you MUST bring: Your social security card or other government issued ID showing your social security number (a W-2 is not sufficient) Government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) Social security cards for all dependents (and spouse if filling a joint return) Any tax forms you have received (W-2, 1099-HC, etc.) TaxHelp is an all volunteer group from Harvard Law School. The program is extremely popular every year and, while Tax Help tries to accommodate everyone, service is not guaranteed.
