      It's a weekly block party! Join friends to design and build amazing LEGO structures. Let your imagination run wild! The Children's Room has plenty of LEGO pieces, so you don't need to bring your own. LEGO pieces are choking hazards for young children. Ages 5 and up. Children under age 7 must be attended by a caregiver. This program can accommodate 30 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly, and unfortunately we cannont accommodate latecomers. Unclaimed seats will be offered to someone waiting. Sam Cornish was the inaugural poet of the City of Boston, from 2008 – 2014. Cornish was reputed for writing “where you are poems,’ which impacted his readers physically and emotionally as well as politically and spiritually. Cornish was born in Baltimore and graduated from Goddard College and Northwestern University. Cornish authored ten collections of poetry, including Dead Beats (Ibbetson Street Press, 2011), An Apron Full of Beans: New and Selected Poems (CavanKerry, 2008), and Folks Like Me (Zoland Books, 1993). Cornish received much recognition for his work, including an NEA Award, the St. Botolph Society Foundation Award and the Somerville Arts/Ibbetson Press Lifetime Achievement Award. Cornish taught at many Massachusetts-based institutions, most notably at Emerson College, where he taught for over twenty years. Sam Cornish was also a prolific photographer of local scenes.
