The Commission on Immigrant Rights & Citizenship (CIRC) is hosting its second Immigrant Communities Welcome event on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the Lecture Hall and Community Room of the Main Library. The Welcome event will feature three films from the documentary series “New Immigrant & Refugee Visions” (NIRV), providing unique insider perspectives of these immigrants’ integration challenges and the contributions they make to our culture, economy and social fabric in Massachusetts. Following the film showings, the filmmakers and their subjects will engage with the audience about their experiences as immigrants and with immigration to the US. Following the films/discussion, foods from various cultural traditions will be shared. All are welcome.

CIRC with the Cambridge Public Library will host a New Immigrant and Refugee Visions event to present a selection of three films followed by discussion. The films provide an insider perspective on the integration challenges faced by immigrants and the contributions they make to our culture, economy and social fabric. The discussion allows the audience to share their reactions to the stories with the aim of increasing understanding across diverse opinions and backgrounds.
