Dream, design and build experiences that will look amazing on your college applications, while making a lasting impact on Cambridge businesses and public spaces! In iFp Studios, students develop the creative confidence, tech savviness and entrepreneurial drive to put their mark on the universe…or at least Cambridge, all while working on real projects for real clients. Participants explore design, science and technology in new ways, preparing them for careers never imagined! Past Clients Include: Cambridge Redevelopment Authority, Cambridge Public Library and MIT.       Join us for a live performance of flute music. Mai Nguyen (18) is a flutist from Cambridge, MA, currently taking a gap year. She has performed with the Boston Youth Symphony and NEC’s Youth Philharmonic, and has also attended BU’s Tanglewood Institute and the Vancouver Symphony’s Orchestral Institute. At her former high school, Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, she founded the Chamber Music Collaboration. Currently, she leads the Greater Boston Music Outreach and works in the Boston Symphony's Education and Community Engagement Department. Besides music, Mai enjoys painting, cooking, and writing.

    • A Window on the World through the Eyes of the Zimbabwean Poet Togara Muzanenhamo

      Main Library, Community Room, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Togara Muzanenhamo reads from his three collections of poetry. Muzanenhamo was born in Lusaka, Zambia and raised on a farm in Zimbabwe. He has studied in the Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom. His poems have been widely published in numerous international journals and broadcast on radio and television. His first collection, Spirit Brides (2006), was shortlisted for the Jerwood Alderburg First Collection Prize, his second collection, Gumiguru (2014), was shortlisted for the Glenna Luschei Prize for African Poetry and his third book, Textures ( 2014 -in collaboration with John Eppel) won the National Arts and Merit Awards for Literature. Muzanenhamo lives with his partner and children in Zimbabwe. This event is co-sponsored by the New England Poetry Club.
