Art, Music, Movies and Making is a free afterschool course introducing students grades 7-8 to the world of digital fabrication. Students learn to dream, design and make (almost) anything with digital fabrication tools including 3D-printers, laser cutters and more. Students will create special collections based on their favorite artwork, music and movies.
Meets February 26 - May 6 2020 on Wednesdays, 3:30pm - 6:30pm, at the Main Library

Sign up for all three classes or pick and choose based on class topic. Please note: you will not be working on your own bicycle; demonstration bicycles will be provided for all repair and maintenance instruction.
Class 1 March 4, 2020: Air: wheel and tire basics, how to fix a flat tire, quick releases
Class 2 March 11, 2020: Brakes: brake types, adjustments, changing brake pads, maintenance
Class 3 March 18, 2020: Chain: chain and drive train wear and maintenance; derailleur adjustments (indexing, limits, and shifters)

Reading Interests: The group concentrates on science fiction and fantasy. An advanced reading schedule is published each fall. Example selections include: Neuromancer by William Gibson and The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.
Requirements: A love of speculative fiction and a desire to talk about books. The group is friendly and informal. Copies of the upcoming book are available at the Main Library Question and Answer desk.
