For your health and safety, please do not touch any other items in the returns basket. It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations. You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes.     • Virtual STEAM Story Time: Sink or Float!

      We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of stories and hands-on activities from the Cambridge STEAM Initiative's STEAM@Home collection available on Find It Cambridge. Caregivers are asked to participate in the program as they will be exploring STEAM with a variety of materials! Gather activity materials before Story Time if you plan to participate in the hands-on activities. Register below. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual STEAM Story Time is free and open to the public and is not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.     • Virtual Communal Reading of the Declaration of Sentiments and the UN Convention on the Prevention of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women

      Cambridge Public Library will host a virtual communal reading of the Declaration of Sentiments from the Seneca Falls Convention of 1848 and the 1979 UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, on August 26 at 5:30 p.m. The reading is co-sponsored by the Mayor’s Office, the City Council, the City Manager’s Office, Commission on the Status of Women and the Human Rights Commission. Dr. Aminah Pilgrim of the University of Massachusetts Boston will give an overview of the Women’s Suffrage Movement inspired by the Seneca Falls Convention and speak to the global movement for women’s rights embodied in the UN Convention prior to the reading. Community Members are invited to sign up to read or just listen.

    • Adult Summer Reading: Virtual Literary Trivia Night

      Come celebrate the end of summer reading with a night of bookish trivia. Play alone, organize a team, or meet new people! We will organize you into teams starting at 6:15 pm, and the game will begin at 6:30 pm. Registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered players 1 day before the event, and again 1 hour before the event.
