We are now accepting returns of any Minuteman Library Network materials at the O'Connell Branch, generally Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Leave your items in the large basket outside the door. For your health and safety, please do not touch any other items in the returns basket.
It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations.
You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes. Please check the library calendar or call the Main Library at 617-349-4040 for up-to-date information on return hours at all locations.

We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of songs, stories, and rhymes.
Caregivers are asked to participate in the program with their children--it will be as important as ever to model movement and song for your little one during this virtual session. Plan to join in, sing along, and move around!

Amidst COVID-19 and the draconian National Security Law, how do the Hong Kong people sustain their movement and rise against the CCP? Can the city and its people survive the US’s sanction and China’s intervention? The talk will present a historical view of Hong Kong’s resistance since the British colonial period and unpack the geopolitical implication of Hong Kong’s year-long resistance.
Bio:
Alex Chow is an advisory board member of the Hong Kong Democracy Council, a Washington, DC-based nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Hong Kong’s basic freedoms, the rule of law, and autonomy. He was one of the leading student activists during the 2014 Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong. In 2017, He was sentenced to prison for seven months. Along with two other young activists, Chow was nominated for the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize. He obtained his master’s degree in City Design and Social Science at the London School of Economics and is currently a Ph.D. student in Geography at the University of California, Berkeley. His research interests include East Asian Economy, food and the environment, religion, and emotions.
