    • AR For Art

      Online,

Augmented Stories: Augmented Stories is a collaborative, community arts, and storytelling program that provides opportunities to create and share creative work with audiences. It utilizes augmented reality (AR) technologies to bring digital content into everyday physical spaces. Facilitated by the developers of Hoverlay AR publishing platform and browser technology, each four-week workshop offers introductory opportunities to learn about AR by creating experiences to address real-world problems. The ways in which we share and consume art, music, and stories have changed in light of the pandemic, and Augmented Stories provides opportunities for patrons to create and share their creative work with audiences. The technology enables viewers to walk around an "art gallery" in the park, experience a concert performance from a living room "stage", or “sit with” and learn from historical figures at a kitchen table. AR for Art, Fall 2020 Creating life-like "digital twins" of artwork using augmented reality AR Walks, Winter 2021 Telling stories around cities using augmented reality AR Performances, Spring 2021 Creating virtual music performances using augmented reality/virtual reality AR for Art Workshop AR for Art is designed for those interested in art and design. Participants will create life-like “digital twins” of artwork using augmented reality. They will develop content that aligns with their interest and a final experience, open to the wider community, that showcases their work. This virtual workshop will be offered on Wednesdays from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM over Zoom. AR for Art will be held Oct. 21st, Oct. 28th, Nov. 4th, and Nov. 11th. Participants should expect to attend all four of these sessions. They are also invited to participate in a virtual community presentation on Nov. 18th.
