      We are now accepting returns of any Minuteman Library Network materials at the Boudreau Branch, generally on Mondays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesdays, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Leave your items in the large basket outside the door. For your health and safety, please do not touch any other items in the returns basket. It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations. You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes. Please check the library calendar or call the Main Library at 617-349-4040 for up-to-date information on return hours at all locations.

If returning oversized items, please call 617-349-4021 during returns hours. It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations.     • Virtual Solstice Story Time

      Enjoy stories and songs about the change of seasons as we watch the sun go down on the year's shortest day. We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of stories, songs and a simple craft. Please have on hand paper, scissors and tape or a stapler. Caregivers are asked to participate in the program with their children. Please plan to join in! Register below. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual Story Times are free and open to the public and are not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.

    • Google Drawing 101: Winter Solstice Lanterns

      Interested in making your own lantern? Learn the fundamentals of using Google Drawing to design and edit pieces for a laser-cut lantern. You'll also be introduced to our in-house laser cutting machine. Participants who wish may share a completed design file to be made into a lantern in The Hive. Patrons can arrange to collect their finished lantern pieces at Contactless Pickup. Google Drawing is a free web-based application. Computer proficiency is necessary for this course. Computing devices are available for reservation at Contactless Pickup: Takeout Technology. Register below. Zoom link will be sent to registrants one hour before the program begins.

      The Cambridge Public Library's VOICES music series presents Promenade Opera Project: Winter Edition. Promenade Opera Project (POP) is thrilled to perform a program of winter and holiday music for you this season. This interactive concert will feature some of POP's Digital Artists-in-Residence including Alexandra Lang (soprano), Jade Espina (mezzo-soprano), Leo Balkovetz (tenor), Jorgeandres “Jac” Camargo (bass), Eoin Clark (piano) and Melanie Rucinski (piano). Selections include "The Evening Prayer" from Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel, "O santa noche (O Holy Night)" by Adolphe Adam, "Carol of the Bells," arias from Handel's Messiah, and more! Come join us for a new, immersive, opera concert experience! Promenade Opera Project is dedicated to creating immersive and innovative productions of opera that are accessible and affordable to audiences, advocating for meaningful opportunities for artists of all disciplines, and fostering partnerships with arts organizations and small businesses to promote a thriving and colorful environment for the arts. We strive to change outdated thinking about opera by producing immersive modern adaptations of opera with relevant themes and important stories for our time.
