    • Materials Returns (Boudreau)

      We are now accepting returns of any Minuteman Library Network materials at the Boudreau Branch, generally on Mondays, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Wednesdays, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Leave your items in the large basket outside the door. For your health and safety, please do not touch any other items in the returns basket. It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations. You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes. Please check the library calendar or call the Main Library at 617-349-4040 for up-to-date information on return hours at all locations.

    • Virtual Baby Lapsit

      Just for you and the baby! Enjoy time together with other parents, caregivers, and babies to learn, play, and develop language and motor skills in this six-week series, Wednesdays at 10 a.m. January 20 - February 24. Pre-walking children and their caregivers. Come prepared to sit one-on-one with your pre-walking baby in your lap. Register below at any point during the six-week series. Registering will sign you up for all remaining sessions in the series. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual Baby Lapsit is free and open to the public and is not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.

      We invite children and their grownups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of stories and hands-on activities. Caregivers are asked to participate in the program as they will be exploring STEAM with a variety of materials! Gather activity materials before Story Time if you plan to participate in the hands-on activities. Register below. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual STEAM Story Time is free and open to the public and is not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.

      Because of the temporary suspension of contactless holds pickup, the discussion of Long Petal to the Sea has been postponed to our regular March meeting. February book selection: A Long Petal of the Sea by Isabel Allende Reading interests: This group enjoys recent fiction and non-fiction. Past titles have included The Night Watchman, The Overstory, and The Monk of Mokha. How to get the print book or book on CD: Copies of the print book and book on CD will be set aside at the O'Neill Branch Library. Visit the O'Neill Branch at 70 Rindge Ave. during current contactless pickup hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. Please note contactless holds pickup is suspended until at least February 1st.     • Turn Your Drawing into 3D Charms

      Interested in making your own charm or token? Learn some of the fundamentals of using Google Drawing and Tinkercad to draw or design a charm or token and transform it into a three-dimensional object. You'll also be introduced to our in-house 3D printers. Participants who wish may share a completed design file to be made into a 3D printed charm or token in The Hive. Patrons can arrange to collect their finished projects at Contactless Pickup. Google Drawing and Tinkercad are free web-based applications. Computer proficiency is necessary for this course.
