We are now accepting returns of any Minuteman Library Network materials at the O'Connell Branch, generally Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Leave your items in the Book Drop, located near the entrance to the parking lot on Thorndike Street.
It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations.
You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes. Please check the library calendar or call the Main Library at 617-349-4040 for up-to-date information on return hours at all locations.

There's nothing quite like a good bookmark to make opening up a book all the more exciting. Learn the fundamentals of using Inkscape to design and edit images for a bookmark. You'll also be introduced to our in-house laser cutting machines. Participants who wish may share a completed design file to be made into a bookmark from recycled leather* in The Hive. Patrons can arrange to collect their finished bookmarks at Contactless Pickup.
Inkscape is a free application that can be downloaded from the internet. Basic computer skills are necessary for this course and it is recommended that you download the software in advance of the event. Computing devices are available for reservation at Contactless Pickup: Takeout Technology.

We all know that bicycling is a great way to get around town, keep fit and reduce your carbon footprint. Please join us for a virtual workshop to cover how to maintain your bike so that all of your rides are safe and smooth. Our knowledgeable instructors from MassBike will go through the basics in an hour-long presentation followed by Q&A to cover how to check your bike's ABCs (Air, Brakes, Chain). You'll come away with a bit of home mechanic know-how so you can check the condition of your bike and also fix it when things start to go awry.
