      We are now accepting returns of any Minuteman Library Network materials at the O'Connell Branch, generally Tuesdays and Fridays, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Leave your items in the Book Drop, located near the entrance to the parking lot on Thorndike Street. It may take up to one week for items to be removed from your card. During the COVID-19 crisis, no overdue fines are being charged on any materials checked out of Cambridge Public Library locations. You may also return any Minuteman Library Network materials via the Main Library outside book drop (available 24/7). We are also offering limited return hours at other branch locations, subject to scheduling changes. Please check the library calendar or call the Main Library at 617-349-4040 for up-to-date information on return hours at all locations.

      In honor of Fair Housing Month in April, The City Manager’s Office of the Housing Liaison, Community Development Department, Human Rights Commission and the Department of Human Service Programs’ Multi-Service Center announces the launch of "Housed In Cambridge: Information to Open Doors" - a city-wide campaign designed to educate and inform residents on housing opportunities and housing-related resources and services. Workshops will begin with weekly panel discussions that have traditionally been offered as part of the City’s annual Fair and Affordable Open House and continue with at least monthly trainings. These panels will be recorded as webinars and therefore will serve as ongoing information and educational resource.

    • Central Square Advisory Committee

      Meeting is through Zoom.

      The Central Square Advisory Committee is appointed by the City Manager to undertake all large project reviews of variances and special permits for activities within the Central Square Overlay District, and to monitor the progress of the Central Square Non-Zoning Recommendations of the 2013 K2C2 Study. This meeting will be held pursuant to the provisions outlined in Section 20.300 of the Zoning Ordinance. The committee meeting will be held virtually through Zoom. Members of the public may watch and participate in the hearing through Zoom.

    • Tinkercad 101: Customized Phone Stand

      Interested in making a customized phone stand? Learn the fundamentals of using Tinkercad to design and edit objects for 3D printing. You'll also be introduced to our in-house 3D printers. Participants who wish may share a completed design file to be printed in The Hive. Patrons can arrange to collect their finished projects at Contactless Pickup. Tinkercad is a free web-based application. Basic computer skills are necessary for this course. Computing devices are available for reservation at Contactless Pickup: Takeout Technology.
