  Community Silent Read-In in the Park

  Join us for a silent community read-in in Joan Lorentz Park. Bring your favorite summer read or check out a book from the Library and enjoy reading on the lawn under the willow tree. Drop into the Library to share what you’re reading so we can add it to the summer reading list. Bring your own picnic supplies. All ages. No registration required.

  Studio Recording 101

  Interested in podcasting, audio production or video production? The Hive is home to two state-of-the-art recording studios. Become familiarized with the basics of the equipment and software in these tools. Contribute to our community-generated media project and become badged to use these spaces for your own projects. You must complete Hive Safety Training & Glowforge 101 before participating in this program. View The Hive's workshop schedule here.

  Hive Safety Training and Glowforge 101

  Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

  Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. You will also create your Hive badge ID using our Glowforge laser cutter and learn how to utilize this piece of equipment to cut and engrave your own creations. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.
