    • Intro ESOL Class (Virtual)

      Join us for a Virtual ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Class conducted by Zoom. This class will be taught at an introductory level. No testing is needed, but registration is required. Register below. Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual ESOL Class is free and open to the public.     • Hive Safety Training and Glowforge 101 (Main)

      Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. You will also create your Hive badge ID using our Glowforge laser cutter and learn how to utilize this piece of equipment to cut and engrave your own creations. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.

      You have learned the basics of our Glowforge Pro and are ready to level up! Learn how to properly select materials for your project, optimize artwork and file format, utilize the camera for focusing and scanning, and generally maintain the machine. Completion of this workshop earns you a badge for the Glowforge laser cutter. As a badged maker, you are able to reserve the Glowforge Pro for use on our equipment booking page during designated times. Note: Participation in the separate Zing 101 workshop is required to operate our Epilog Zing laser cutter. You must complete Hive Safety Training & Glowforge 101 before participating in this program.
