      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Fall Mini-Session: Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 13-30, 3:30-6:30 p.m., Community Room Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Bike experts from the Cambridge Community Development Department will be available to help repair your bike, share bike maintenance advice, and get you ready for riding. Library staff will be available to talk about new resources available to you and to create library cards. No registration necessary. The rain date for this event is Thursday, October 5th from 4-7pm.       You have learned the basics of our Glowforge Pro laser cutter and are ready to level up! Learn how to use our Epilog Zing—an industry standard laser cutting machine—and Inkscape graphics software to customize and laser cut a cardboard virtual reality headset to explore virtual worlds. Completion of this workshop earns you a badge for the Zing laser cutter. As a badged maker, you are able to reserve the Epilog Zing for use on our equipment booking page during designated times. Note: Participation in the separate Glowforge 201 workshop is required to operate our Glowforge Pro laser cutter.
