      This freshman only design course through the Rindge School of Technical Arts is for students with interests in graphic design, digital media, and production techniques. Over six weeks students will develop design and technical skills to develop projects using equipment in The Hive.

      Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages Class. This class will be taught at an intermediate level. No testing is needed, but registration is required. The is an in-person class. Please register below. Intermediate ESOL Class is free and open to the public. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.       Interested in podcasting, audio production, or post editing? The Hive is home to two state-of-the-art recording studios. Learn the basics of the equipment and software in these studios. In addition, learn how to: Engineer your own podcast projects EQ Compress and de-ess audio files Vocal tracking Add music to your project This 2-part workshop will allow you to become badged to use these spaces for your own projects. *Part 2 of this workshop occurs 1 week after part 1. *You must complete Hive Safety Training & Glowforge 101 before participating in this program. Become familiarized with the basics of the equipment and software in these tools.* Contribute to our community-generated media project and become badged to use these spaces for your own projects. *You must complete Hive Safety Training & Glowforge 101 before participating in this program.       October read: The Only Good Indians, by Stephen Graham Jones Reading Interests: The group concentrates on fiction, memoirs, and popular nonfiction. Some past selections include: Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli, On Immunity by Eula Biss, and Disoriental by Négar Djavadi. How to get the print book: Copies of the print book are set aside at the Main Library. Visit the Main Library at 449 Broadway during service hours and a staff member can help you check out a copy. How to get the e-book or digital audiobook: This month’s book is available as an e-book through OverDrive or the Libby app. How to register: Registration is required for this event. Click the registration link below to register. This event is onsite at Main, with the option to attend virtually. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event.
