    • Second Careers & Side Gigs – Women in Business at Every Age and Stage

      Attend this seminar to hear from women business leaders who have launched a business after leaving a first career or alongside an existing career. This seminar includes a speaker panel of diverse business owners from a range of industries and will include opportunity for small break-out rooms to ask questions and engage directly with attendees.

      This 2-day program, which is intended for those working on creating supportive systems of care for anyone involved in domestic violence, will offer a collaborative learning space where participants will explore: what it means to center the voices and experiences of those who are most impacted by violence; what happens when the broader community takes ownership of the problem and solutions to domestic violence; and how do we work toward community awareness and action to close persistent gaps.

      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects. Mondays and Thursdays, Sept. 27 - Dec 23 (Learning Lab) Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Made possible by generous support from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund and Verizon.

      Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. You will also create your Hive badge ID using our Glowforge laser cutter and learn how to utilize this piece of equipment to cut and engrave your own creations. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.
