      Join us for a half-hour of stories in the plaza outside the Central Square Branch Library, Franklin Street side, weather permitting. For ages birth-5 with caregivers.

      Put on your dancing shoes and head over to the Main Library! We'll sing and move together, and share a story or two. Children of all ages and their grown-ups. This program will be held in Joan Lorentz Park on the lawn outside the Main Library. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be canceled. Please call 617-349-4038 for more information.

    • 3D Printing 101: Design and Creation, Pt.1 (Main)

      Learn how to create objects in digital space and fabricate those creations using our Sindoh 3D printers in this 2 part series. Before taking this workshop: Complete Hive Safety & Glowforge 101 Create a free Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com In part 1 of this course, you will get hands-on experience running the 3D printer, and gain fundamental 3D modeling skills using Tinkercad. In part 2, you will create your own customized designs, and practice setting up your own 3D print construction. Note: This is a badging course for 3D printing. Only those who sign up for part 1 of this series can participate in part 2 the following week. You will be badged at the end of the part 2 workshop. Create a Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com prior to arriving. Parents may need to assist users under the age of 18 to create an account prior to arriving.       Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects. Mondays and Thursdays, Sept. 27 - Dec 23 (Learning Lab) Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program. The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part of Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Made possible by generous support from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund and Verizon.
