    • City of Cambridge and De Novo Immigration Legal Screening Virtual Clinics

      This FREE monthly clinic offers participants a consultation with an immigration attorney and the chance to learn more about how immigration law affects them and their families.

      Join us for a half-hour of stories in the plaza outside the Central Square Branch Library, Franklin Street side, weather permitting. For ages birth-5 with caregivers. Following the City of Cambridge's guidance on public gatherings, all Outdoor Story Time attendees over the age of two must wear a mask and physically distance.

    • High Beginner ESOL Class (Virtual)

      Join us for an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Class. This class will be taught at a high beginner level. No testing is needed, but registration is required. This is a virtual event. A Zoom link will be sent to all registered participants 1 hour before the event. For more information call Maria Balestrieri at 617-349-4013.

    • Outdoor Songs and Stories (Main)

      Main Library, 449 Broadway, Cambridge, MA 02138

      Music. Movement. Story. Join your librarians outside for 15 minutes of fun! Children of all ages and their grown-ups. This program will be held in Joan Lorentz Park on the lawn outside the Main Library. In the event of inclement weather, this program will be canceled. Please call 617-349-4038 for more information.       In this workshop, you will learn about our makerspace, how to use our resources, and how to keep safe in The Hive. Registration is required. Before taking in-person workshops in The Hive, all makers must bring signed copies of The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.

      The Harvard Square Advisory Committee will meet to discuss a proposal by Trinity Property Management to construct a new building at the corners of JFK, Mt. Auburn, and Dunster Streets, replacing an existing mixed use retail and office building known as “The Garage.” This proposal requires several special permits from the Planning Board (PB-386).

      We invite children and their grown-ups to join us from home for 20-25 minutes of songs, stories and rhymes to wind down the day. Feel free to wear your favorite cozy pajamas! Caregivers are asked to participate in the program with their children. Plan to join in and sing along! Register below and a Zoom link will be emailed to registrants one hour before the program begins. Virtual Pajama Story Time is presented by the Cambridge Public Library and the Center for Families. It is free and open to the public and is not recorded. If you register but later find you cannot attend, please remember to cancel your registration to make space for others.
