    • Outdoor Story Time (Collins)

      Collins Branch, 64 Aberdeen Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138

      We invite children and their grown-ups to join us for 20-25 minutes of songs, stories, and rhymes. This program will be held in the backyard of the Collins Branch Library. In the event of inclement weather, the program will move indoors. Please call 617-349-4021 for more information.

      The Yu lab studies HIV viruses in diverse groups of participants to investigate possible ways in which the immune system can recognize and combat HIV infection. The lab also looks at how certain innate immune responses, can be trained to support other immune responses to HIV. Join the Library as we welcome the Ragon Institute and scientists Xu Yu, MD; Benjamin Bone, Ph.D., and Aischa Niesar, M.Sc., as they share their findings when combining basic science immunology with clinical and translational perspectives for improving clinical treatment options for viral infectious disease.

      Are you interested in using The Hive? In this workshop you will learn about our makerspace, how to utilize the resources we offer and how to keep safe in The Hive. You will also create your Hive badge ID using our Glowforge laser cutter and learn how this piece of equipment cuts and engraves your own creations. Find out what you need to get started as a maker in The Hive here. Completion of Hive Safety Training is the entry point to making, innovating, and collaborating in this space. Makers must also sign The Hive User Agreement and Waivers.
