    • CANCELLED: Meet a Mini! (Collins)

      Collins Branch, 64 Aberdeen Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138

      This event is unfortunately cancelled and postponed to fall. Story time will still happen at 10:30am at the Collins Branch. We apologize for any inconvenience. Therapy horses bring happiness, hope, and a sense of well being to people of all ages. Come meet a miniature horse from Lifting Spirits Miniature Therapy Horses! Listen to a story, learn about what therapy horses do, and pat the horse afterwards.Closed-toed shoes are recommended. Registration is required.       Join us for a special Juneteenth story time to celebrate Black voices. Recommended for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly.     • Haitian Folkloric Dance Class with Jean Appolon Expressions (O'Neill)

      O'Neill Branch, 70 Rindge Ave., Cambridge, MA 02140

      Join us outdoors at the O'Neill Branch for Haitian Folkoric Dance Class with Jean Appolon Expressions! This all levels class begins with a complete warm-up that blends modern technique with Afro-Haitian styles of dance. The dancers will learn movements and rhythms of Haiti including but not limited to Yanvalou, Ibo, Kongo, Nago, and Petwo. The movements are intricate and technical - yet loose and expressive at the same time. All ages and abilities are encouraged to join! In case of inclement weather, this program will be moved to Tuesday, June 21, at 5:30 p.m.
