Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects.
July 5 - August 5, weekdays from 9:15am-3:30pm at the Main Library
Innovators for Purpose (iFp) is a Cambridge-based nonprofit that inspires high-potential, diverse young people to discover their passions, develop innovative mindsets and cultivate marketable skills to solve problems they care most about. Summer Studio teens are funded in part through the Mayor's Summer Youth Program.
The Cambridge Public Library STEAM Academy is part Cambridge STEAM Initiative's efforts to enhance and expand students’ access to quality STEAM learning experiences. Made possible by generous support from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund and Verizon.

Learn how to cut, engrave, and shape designs from a variety of materials using the Glowforge Pro laser cutter in this 2-day workshop. This series of workshops replaces the previous Glowforge 101 and Glowforge 201 offerings.
In part 1 of this course, you will utilize the camera for focusing and scanning your own custom images, properly select materials for your project, and fabricate your first design. In part 2, you will create digital artwork for the Glowforge, and learn file formatting for production.
Note: This is a badging course for laser cutting. Signing up for part 1 of this series registers you to participate in part 2 the next day. You will be badged at the end of the part 2 workshop, and are able to reserve the Glowforge Pro for use during designated times.

Join this interactive workshop, network with other nonprofit leaders, and learn about the what, where, and how of tapping into new revenue sources for your small nonprofit organization. This workshop is intended for patrons who are already engaged in nonprofit work.
Note: There are two workshops in this series. Attendance is not required for both, but is encouraged.
Anne Hager is a fundraising consultant and helps small nonprofits raise more money. Her career spans executive and senior leadership positions in the nonprofit sector, where she gained extensive experience in writing grants for federal and private institutions. She holds a Master’s degree in Politics & Public Administration, and recently graduated from the Institute for Nonprofit Practice at Tuft’s Tisch College. In her free time, she reviews unfunded proposals and enjoys the outdoors with her family.
