    • 3D Printing 101: Game Piece Design

      Learn how to create your favorite game piece in digital space and print it out using our Sindoh 3D printers. Before taking this workshop: Complete Hive Safety Training Create a free Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com You will get hands-on experience running the 3D printer, gain fundamental 3D modeling skills using Tinkercad, and earn your 3D Printing badge for future reservations in The Hive. Create a Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com prior to arriving. Parents may need to assist users under the age of 18 to create an account prior to arriving. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

      A series of classes with instruction on Storytelling.A Garden of Stories is community based storytelling where older aduls learn how to tell personal stories and from their imaginations through sharing and connecting with their community. The 8-week course will occur every Tuesday 2pm-4pm, starting May 9 through June 27 This will be an in-person program at the Main Library. Space is limited to 15 participants.       Cambridge Public Library presents: Active Older Adults Lecture and Workshop Series In partnership with Cambridge Neighbors and facilitated by Ailene Gerhardt Sponsored by the Cambridge Public Library Foundation Session 5: June 27, 2023, 6:30-7:45 p.m. Bringing It All Together & Developing an Organized Solo Aging Plan Ailene Gerhardt, Board Certified Patient Advocate at Beacon Patient Solutions LLC, will explore the unique considerations and planning needs of solo agers (an adult who, because of choice or circumstance, is without the family support structure of adult children or close family members). Ailene will review specific needs related to healthcare, community, and programs and resources available to support solo agers. Learn more about Ailene’s work with solo agers: https://www.beaconpatientsolutions.com/solos Cambridge Neighbors (www.cambridgeneighbors.org) is a membership-based nonprofit that provides a variety of supports, both practical and social, to older adults in Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown who wish to remain safely and independently in their homes and communities as they age, for as long as possible. While not a support group nor a venue for bereavement, a Death Cafe seeks to provide an unscripted, non-judgmental platform for those wishing to explore the many facets of this often taboo subject. Facilitated by Richard Davis a long time Death Cafe organizer and hospice volunteer. Come with an open mind, a healthy curiosity, and a willingness to share your thoughts, feelings, and questions with other like-minded individuals. This is a virtual event on Zoom. Space is limited.
