      Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a youth-powered design and innovation program where young creatives channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology and storytelling within a social justice framework, iFp creatives engage in real-world client-sponsored projects.     • Summer Reading: Kamishibai Theatre (Central Square)

      Central Square Branch, 45 Pearl St., Cambridge, MA 02139

      Celebrate Tanabata, the star festival, at the library with this Kamishibai performance from Yumi Izuyama. A picture-based storytelling from Japan, Kamishibai combines visual, oral and gestural storytelling methods. This storytime will be followed by a Tanabata based craft. Recommended for children aged 3-8 and their caregivers. Registration is recommended for this program. Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, Cambridge Public Library Foundation, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners

      This class teaches Tai Chi arm and leg movements of the yang style long form. There is a strong emphasis on Tai Chi walking, which has been known to improve balance.

      Learn how to create your favorite game piece in digital space and print it out using our Prusa 3D printers. Before taking this workshop: Complete Hive Safety Training Create a free Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com You will get hands-on experience running the 3D printer, gain fundamental 3D modeling skills using Tinkercad, and earn your 3D Printing badge for future reservations in The Hive. Create a Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com prior to arriving. Parents may need to assist users under the age of 18 to create an account prior to arriving. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.
