SERVICE ADVISORY: The Cambridge Police Records Unit will be open to members of the public, by appointment only, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for LTC renewals and general assistance.  Appointments can be made by phone at 617-349-3336 or by email

** Please note that fingerprint services for new LTC applications are not yet available. ** 

The Cambridge Police Department offers general fingerprint services for City of Cambridge residents only. Fingerprints are sometimes required when applying for certain jobs and volunteering opportunities, passport applications, internships, or government related endeavors. Applicants must provide proof of Cambridge residency and acceptable forms of identification at the time of service request.


  • Proof of Cambridge residency include recent utility bill, lease agreement, etc., listing applicant’s name.  
  • Must provide valid photo ID such as driver's license, State ID, student ID, Passport, military ID.

Fingerprinting for Immigration and naturalization purposes is not provided by the Cambridge Police Department. Please refer to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration website for more information (Link to USCIS).
