Computer Classes

The Cambridge Public Library offers free computer classes at the Main Library. Unless otherwise noted, registration is recommended but not required. For additional information, call 617-349-4041.

Google Apps and Cloud

Confused or new to computing in the cloud? Join us for a two-hour introduction on using Google Apps to make, store and share documents and photos in Google Drive. Students will learn a little bit about what is meant by the terms, cloud, apps and drive, then learn to make, store, share and edit documents. All participants should have a google gmail account. If you don’t have one, we’ll help you get one at the start of the class. Click on a date below to register for the session you want.

Google Docs

Learn how to use Google Docs, a free and simple online word processor, similar to Microsoft Word. We’ll learn how to: Create a document with a variety of formatting, photos, and links 

  • Save and manage your documents
  • Understand all the changes made to a document over time (its revision history 
  • Work collaboratively, leaving and responding to comments in a document

Please note: If you are new to Google, it is highly recommended that you sign up for one of the following CPL Computer workshops or series before taking Google Docs: Google Basics, Internet Basics, or Google Apps & Cloud. Google Sheets

Learn how to use Google Sheets, a free and simple online spreadsheet creator, similar to Microsoft Excel. We’ll learn how to:
