Cambridge Public Library and the City Manager’s Office are pleased to announce that the STEAM Learning Lab, a flexible learning space with classroom-scale web conferencing and a component of the Citywide STEAM Initiative, will officially open at the Main Library.

The Citywide STEAM Initiative is a partnership between the Cambridge Public Library, the Department of Human Service Programs and the Cambridge Public Schools District.

Construction of the STEAM Learning Lab was funded by the City of Cambridge, Friends of the Cambridge Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.

The celebratory opening of the STEAM Learning Lab will take place on September 19, from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. The event will include an overview of the STEAM Initiative, its partners, and the Learning Lab’s role in it. A tour of other STEAM spaces under construction will also take place. Refreshments will be served.

This event will take place at the Main Library, 449 Broadway. The public is invited to attend however seating is limited. Please RSVP to mkangsen@cambridgema.gov by September 17 at 5:00 p.m.
