Main Library Ground Floor

Dear Patrons,

The Cambridge Public Library (CPL) has recently released its Strategic Framework, which contains our updated mission, vision, and values. It also identifies the priorities that will guide the work of the Library for the next several years.

I would like to thank the members of the community who contributed to this framework by completing the public survey, attending sessions in person, or adding comments to idea walls at all CPL locations. I am proud of the staff who worked tirelessly on the Steering Committee, especially Deputy Director Joy Kim, who led these efforts so meticulously!

I am also very grateful to the City of Cambridge, the CPL Board of Trustees, the Cambridge Public Library Foundation, and the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library for their essential support of the strategic planning process.

Participants are invited to read America Is Not the Heart by Elaine Castillo and then join our virtual session to discuss what we learned from it, what we found ourselves moved by, and what about the book was hard and/or beautiful.  Registration is required.

You can access the ebook on OverDrive or with the Libby app, using a Minuteman Network library card.

The next Virtual STEAM Story Time will be on Wednesday, October 7, at 11 am. Children and their grownups can join us for 20-25 minutes of stories and hands-on activities to explore STEAM. Please gather activity materials before the event. Registration is required.
